Parnian in an Iranian-born visual artist and researcher based in London. She graduated from the University of Tehran and completed a Master’s in Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Currently, she is a PhD candidate in Arts and Humanities at Birkbeck College. Her work has been exhibited in Tehran, London and New York. Her photo-series Khazarshahr, has been recently published by The Velvet Cell publication in London. She has recently contributed in a video installation called Urban Particle Supercollider exhibited in Munich.
“As a practicing artist, I am interested in examining the ways photography relates to social theories, mainly that of urbanism. My work for the past few years has dealt with issues of place attachment, politics of space, immigration and social mobility”.
